Washington DC: Not quite a category

Ok, to wrap up all of the fun that happened in Washington DC, here are a few things that didn't quite require a full on post of their own:

Spy Museum:  Dude seriously?  With all of the free museums available in Washington DC you have to charge $20/person for this one?!  We were so irritated we didn't even go in.  I was a little sad because this museum sounded awesome!  Mr. E and I are kind of James Bond obsessed, so this would have been a major score.  Oh well.

When squirrels get all up in yo face:  When we sat down with our food from the Food Truck a little squirrel decided he was a lot braver than the rest of the world.  I swear to you, this little guy was almost in my lap to steal my french fries!  It freaked me out so I kindly requested our relocation.  Which Mr. E had no choice but to agree to.

Internet at the airport (or lack-there-of):  Ok, just because it irritated me.  Don't get excited if you have a layover at Reagan International Airport.  Their WiFi is free, but SUCKS.  We couldn't get any of our devices to connect for more than 10 seconds.  It was ridiculous and made for a very grumpy me.

Weather:  I realize we went to Washington DC at a very inopportune time as far as the weather was concerned.  It was quite humid, especially compared to the weather we get in Phoenix.  I still don't regret it though.  I just learned to walk around with really fro-y hair.

Because of how humid it was, when we got on our plane this is what it looked like!  I swear my camera is good, this is fog!  It was super zombie-ish.  It all went away the moment we took off, but it was still pretty eerie.
Transportation:  Major Kudos goes out to the Washington DC metro system!  Holy cow was it easy!  We didn't even have to think about renting a car (thank goodness because I'd never drive in that city).  I wish every major city had transportation available that was as easy as that.  Take this as a hint Phoenix!  ::cough::

Le Enfant Station (please don't quote me on the spelling)

Washington DC: Museums

One of the biggest draws for Mr. E and myself to Washington DC was the seemingly endlessness lineup of museums available.  When we found out the admission was free?  EVEN BETTER!  We are both extreme nerds and LOVE to check out educational stuff during vacation, what a better place to do it?

Washington DC: Monuments

Part of the fun of going to Washington DC is seeing all of the monuments!  We didn't get anywhere close to being able to see them all, but we got in as many as we could in the short amount of time we were there.  Here are a few of the ones that we did manage to hit up.  The rest are on my husband's camera, so you'll just have to deal with these :-P

Washington DC: Arlington National Cemetery

You cannot visit Washington DC without paying your respects to the men and women who literally gave their all for our country.

Washington DC: Food

I don't know about the rest of you, but when I go on vacation (ok when I go anywhere) food is a BIG deal to me.  I want to eat a lot, and I want to eat well!  After all, calories don't count during vacation right?

Sea to Shining Sea: DC Vacation!

First, I need to apologize to all of you who have missed me so terribly ;-)  I know you were crying over the staleness that was my Blog for the last week.  I promise, I'll be better....but let me explain:

Mr. E and I have been very blessed in that we've been able to take pretty awesome vacations at least once per year.  Last year, for example, we went to Colombia!  Granted, we were going to see his family, but come on!  That is pretty awesome right?

This year weren't going to do anything or go anywhere but decided that was far too boring for us.  After a bit of a debate (and by debate I mean we were both indecisive and had to just YOLO it) we decided to hit up Washington D.C.!  Mr. E has never been and I hadn't been since I was in middle school so we thought it'd be a great idea.  Not to mention, we are both intense museum nerds and talk about the Mecca of history in DC!

For the next few days I'm going to try and give you the highlights of our trip.  If you don't care, I promise you won't hurt my feelings if you don't read them.  However, I do promise that I'm a fairly entertaining individual and you should probably consider investing the few minutes it takes to read said posts!

I also promise that I'll get back to our regularly scheduled program.  I have a LOT of work ahead of me for school, as I know the rest of you do, and I will be documenting all of those trials, tribulations, and jubilations that are sure to come.
