Washington DC: Museums

One of the biggest draws for Mr. E and myself to Washington DC was the seemingly endlessness lineup of museums available.  When we found out the admission was free?  EVEN BETTER!  We are both extreme nerds and LOVE to check out educational stuff during vacation, what a better place to do it?

Holocaust

Hands down my favorite museum to visit was the Holocaust Museum.  What a tribute to the injustices that took place during that time.  I learned more about what lead up to the Holocaust than I thought I would.  I wish we would have had more time to go through it.  We were two hours into the museum when a guide came by to tell us we only had 30 minutes left and were only half way through!

Air and Space

Mr. E, being the giant nerd that he is, LOVED the Air and Space museum!  More specifically the Space side; we didn't even see the Air half!  Like most little boys, his dream growing up was the be an astronaught.  I'm glad he didn't pursue that as we probably would never have started dating, but it was nice to see him get so excited over all of the exhibits.

Natural History

Following directions one rock at a time!

Who doesn't love Dinosaurs!?  It was so much fun to explore the fossils and bones of what once roamed the earth.  It was a little overwhelming to think about these things being alive today....yikes!  Then again, I technically own two little dinosaurs....

American History

I am a giant American History nerd.  I cannot give you exact dates, but I can tell the story like I was there.  I really did want to be a History teacher when I was originally going to school; I just sort of fell into Math.  I suppose it worked out though.  One of the biggest draws I have to history is that it's a STORY.  I love to look into our past and figure out the hows and whys of our lives.
